Understanding and Addressing Adolescent Mental Health and Depression

Understanding and Addressing Adolescent Mental Health and Depression

Supporting our students' social, emotional, and physical health has long been a collaborative partnership between parents and New Trier High School. To further that work, New Trier will host "Understanding and Addressing Adolescent Mental Health and Depression" on March 21st from 7 - 8:30 PM in the Cornog Auditorium at the Northfield Campus.

At this event, you will have the opportunity to hear from several members of our staff, representatives from some of the mental health organizations in our community (Willow House, Haven Youth and Family Services, and Erika's Lighthouse), and Dr. Jonathan Singer, an expert on adolescent depression from Loyola University. After a short presentation, there will be an opportunity to ask questions of these experts. Our goal is to develop a deeper understanding of the varied signs of depression, learn strategies all adults can use to help connect with students who may be struggling, and expand our knowledge of the resources available to support students in our community.

Parents and students are welcome. We hope that you will attend!
