Transfer Families

The NTPA Transfer Families Committee is hosting 3 events to welcome families new to the district:

August Transfer Family Welcome Tour   -   Wednesday, August 20 at 3:00 P.M.. This a great opportunity for the entire family to tour the New Trier east campus, meet others, and find classrooms before the first day of school.  Meet in front of the east campus main entrance for refreshments and welcoming comments from Principal Denise Hibbard. Rain location: main lobby. Siblings welcome. Remind students to bring their class schedule.

September Transfer Family Parent Coffee - Monday, September 15 at 10:00 A.M.. Parents of transfer students, please join us at New Trier east campus -- Gaffney Auditorium Lobby - for this unique opportunity to get aquatinted while getting answers to questions about everything New Trier. Denise Hibbard, Principal, Scott Williams, Assistant Principal for Student Services, Tiffany Myers, NT Social worker,   and parent representatives will be available to help you make connections that may ease your family's transition.

October Transfer Family Parent Coffee   - Monday, October 27 at 10:00 A.M.. Join us at the home of Laura Roth, 145 Melrose Avenue, Kenilworth. This is another opportunity for parents of transfer students to get aquatinted, get answers, and get involved at New Trier. Principal Denise Hibbard, parent representatives from every grade level, and transfer family alumni will be available to answer questions in a casual setting. Reminder, if your family transferred to New Trier during the past several years, you are invited to attend this gathering and continue the conversation!

From the NTPA Presidents

Dear Trevian Parents:

On behalf of the New Trier Parents' Association (NTPA), it is our pleasure to welcome you to the 2014-2015 school year.   We extend a special welcome to the newest members of the New Trier High School family, the students and families of the Class of 2018.

The mission of the NTPA remains to promote connections, provide communication, and present opportunities for parents, which support and enhance the New Trier experience.  Every parent at New Trier is a member of the NTPA.  Inside these pages, you will find detailed information on all school programs hosted by the NTPA as well as events geared specifically towards your class.  We hope you will read the cover article written by our dedicated administrators.   We are extremely fortunate to have two principals committed to working collaboratively with students, faculty, staff and parents to achieve success at New Trier.

In addition to this issue of the Parents' Press, each family will receive a winter and spring issue by mail as well as the monthly eNews via email. NTPA also publishes the student directory, which will be mailed in the fall.

For over a century, New Trier parents have played a vital role in maintaining a tradition of excellence at our school.  We offer thanks to all the parents who have volunteered and invite each of you to find a meaningful way to participate. Visit the NTPA tab on the newly revamped New Trier website www.newtrier.k12.il.us/parentsassociation.aspx and your class page to find ways to volunteer and up-to-date information.
