Parents' Association

Promotes connections, provides communication, and presents opportunities which support and enhance the New Trier experience.

Welcome to the NTPA!

As a parent or guardian of a New Trier student, you are automatically a member of the Parents' Association. Your active support - both as a volunteer and as a contributor - is vital to its success. The NTPA provides many services, events and programs that enhance your child's experience AND YOURS! Some of these include: the student/parent directory, chaperones for dances, speakers and presentations for both students and parents, exam breakfasts, social meetings for parents . . . Please consider making a contribution by clicking here or mail a check payable to New Trier Parents' Association, 385 Winnetka Ave., Winnetka, IL 60093-4295 to add to the success and education of our students. See the box below for ways to volunteer.

Teens and the Law: A Candid Discussion about Teenage Driving, Drinking and Drugs. Recorded October 24th, 2012

From the NTPA Presidents

From the Spring issue of the quarterly "Parents' Press"

Dear New Trier High School Parents:

Life is a combination of milestones and moments

As our freshmen prepare to move to the Winnetka campus, our seniors look forward to graduation and celebrating life after New Trier, and eighth graders from our sender schools anticipate their first day of high school next August.

As the year comes to a close, we would like to say thank you to those who have contributed to the NTPA this past year:

to Dr. Tim Dohrer, the Winnetka campus principal, for his support, leadership and guidance over the past five years. His commitment to the NTPA has been outstanding and greatly appreciated. He has contributed much to our organization, always with a smile and enthusiasm.  We wish him all the best in his next endeavor.

to the NTPA Executive Board, a talented and ambitious group who have dedicated tremendous time and energy to our organization.

to Mary Timko and Mari Plotnik who are always there to help and advise behind the scenes in the Winnetka campus principal's office.

to the more than 500 parents who serve as Adviser Room Representatives.

to the more than 100 parents who serve on Class Executive Boards.

and, to our Board of Education Liaison, Carol Ducommun, and our campus principals, Tim Dohrer and Paul Waechtler . We welcome and appreciate their commitment to the NTPA.

All NTPA activities require help from many parent volunteers. We would like to extend our gratitude to all who have participated this year.  New Trier parents play an important role in maintaining tradition and excellence at our school.  It has been our pleasure to spend these past four years with all of you!

We also send our best wishes for success to Linda Ball and Courtney Fitzgerald, as they assume the role of NTPA Co-Presidents next year.

NTPA Co-Presidents,

Ronna Gordon and Betsy Helmer
