Transfer Families

The NTPA Transfer Families Committee is hosting 3 events to welcome families new to the district:

August Transfer Family Welcome Tour   -   Wednesday, August 20 at 3:00 P.M.. This a great opportunity for the entire family to tour the New Trier east campus, meet others, and find classrooms before the first day of school.  Meet in front of the east campus main entrance for refreshments and welcoming comments from Principal Denise Hibbard. Rain location: main lobby. Siblings welcome. Remind students to bring their class schedule.

September Transfer Family Parent Coffee - Monday, September 15 at 10:00 A.M.. Parents of transfer students, please join us at New Trier east campus -- Gaffney Auditorium Lobby - for this unique opportunity to get aquatinted while getting answers to questions about everything New Trier. Denise Hibbard, Principal, Scott Williams, Assistant Principal for Student Services, Tiffany Myers, NT Social worker,   and parent representatives will be available to help you make connections that may ease your family's transition.

October Transfer Family Parent Coffee   - Monday, October 27 at 10:00 A.M.. Join us at the home of Laura Roth, 145 Melrose Avenue, Kenilworth. This is another opportunity for parents of transfer students to get aquatinted, get answers, and get involved at New Trier. Principal Denise Hibbard, parent representatives from every grade level, and transfer family alumni will be available to answer questions in a casual setting. Reminder, if your family transferred to New Trier during the past several years, you are invited to attend this gathering and continue the conversation!

From the NTPA Presidents

Dear New Trier High School Parents:

Spring At Last!

It seems odd that spring, a time of new beginnings, is the time when we find ourselves starting to say goodbye as our time here on the NTPA comes to an end.  But, that is where we find ourselves. While we are looking forward to new beginnings on whatever path our students are about to embark, it is bittersweet since it means leaving behind this truly incredible community that we have been part of for the last four years.

We would like to express our sincere and great appreciation to the many who have contributed to the NTPA this past year:

Denise Hibbard, the Winnetka Campus Principal, who in her first year as principal, has been invaluable to our organization with her enormous support.  Paul Waechtler, the Northfield Campus Principal, who helps make the freshman year experience so successful for not only the students at Northfield, but also for the freshman class co-chairs.

The NTPA Executive Board, a dedicated group of people who have worked tirelessly to bring the staff, parents and students of New Trier events, programs, publications and the student directories, designed to enrich their New Trier experience.

Mary Timko and Mari Plotnik, who are always there to help us in whatever way we need them.

Lori Goldstein, our Board of Education Liaison.

The parents who serve on the Class Executive Boards.

And finally, to the hundreds of parents who serve as Adviser Room Representatives, the chaperones for school dances, the volunteers at other school events or programs, and all 2014 graduation party volunteers.

We wish the best to Brooke Conkey and Leslie Bond who will be assuming the roles of Co-Presidents for the 2014/15 school year.

Welcome to the Class of 2018!  We wish you a successful 4 years of high school, filled with challenges, growth, friendship and excitement.

Congratulations to the Class of 2014.  May you always remember "To commit minds to inquiry, hearts to compassion and lives to the service of humanity."

It has been a wonderful experience serving this past year as the Co-Presidents of the NTPA and the three years before that as the Class Co-Chairs, making friendships and memories that we will always treasure.

NTPA Co-Presidents,

Linda Ball and Courtney Nigro Fitzgerald
