2013 Tryouts

Tryouts will start Wednesday, August 14th at 11:30am. All practices will be held at Winnetka Golf Course. There is a $75 tryout fee (no fee if you have a season pass). Please make checks payable to Winnetka Park District.

Schedule

Wednesday, August 14 - 11:30am (please arrive by 11:15)

Thursday, August 15 - 11:30am

Friday & Saturday, August 16 & 17 - No Tryouts/Practice

Monday, August 19 - 11:30am

*Cuts will be made after 8/19.

Permit to Participate

ALL athletes who would like to try out for golf must pass a physical exam by their doctor. Afterwards, the signed physical sheet is turned into the Athletic Office (Winnetka campus room 224). At this time, tell the athletic office you are trying out for golf and you will be registered properly in the computer system. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO TRYOUT WITHOUT DOING THESE NECESSARY STEPS!

Play Golf this Summer!

The IJGA website has information on summer tournaments. We recommend you get as much tournament experience as you can so that you are ready to go come tryout time in August. Work on that short game! You will be surprised how many strokes you can save by dedicating time to practice your short game this summer.

2012 State Champions

The Trevians finished 1st place to win its 6th state championship in the last 13 seasons. The second round of the tournament was cancelled due to weather. New Trier was in first place after day one shooting a 313 and finished 4 shots ahead of the second place team. For more on the story click HERE.

Join the IJGA

In order to improve your golf game over the off-season it is recommended to join the IJGA and play in some tournaments. Please visit the IJGA website for more information on how to sign up and register for tournaments.

Play Golf This Off-Season Through the IJGA

The Illinois Junior Golf Association (IJGA) is a great way to get involved playing golf and gain some tournament experience. Event registration for the 2012 season will open in early March. There is a membership designed to fit each and every golfer. For more information visit the IJGA website.

Hickory Point Golf Course is enjoyed by golfers of all skill levels. Its flat, wide fairways provide a foundation for learning, while long distances and the ever-present wind provide a challenge for more experienced golfers. Designed by leading golf course architect Larry Packard, Hickory Point features a lighted driving range and special six-hole short course for beginning and youth golfers. Hickory Point has also hosted the PGA of America Junior Golf Series, Cleveland Golf High School Girls Invitational, Decatur High School Boys Invitational, Plantation Tour Junior Series, NCAA Division III National Golf Championships for Women, and the Illinois Women’s Golf Association’s Senior Open.

The Trevians concluded an amazing season by finishing 2nd in state at Hickory Ridge Golf Course in Carbondale, IL on October 17. Congratulations to the team! New Trier shot an impressive two day total score of 653 to finish second.
