  • New Trier Chinese language students excel in end-of-year competitions
    Fifteen New Trier students participated in the 11th Midwest Chinese Speech Contest, hosted by Midwest Chinese Teachers Alliance (MCTA). MCTA currently has over 200 Chinese teachers in the greater Chicago area, and its interest is in promoting the study of Mandarin Chinese as a world language or heritage language for all levels.
  • John R. Thomson Italian Scholarship
    Three deserving New Trier Latin students were awarded the annual John R. Thomson Italian Scholarship this semester, which provides an opportunity to enhance their appreciation of the Latin language and ancient Roman culture by studying Italian internationally, nationally, or locally. This scholarship is supported by the John R. Thomson scholarship fund and the New Trier Modern and Classical Languages Department.
  • New Trier Science Olympiad finishes eighth out of 60 at National Tournament
    New Trier Science Olympiad competed at the National Tournament at Cornell University on Saturday, June 1, and finished in 8th place out of 60 teams from across the country. This was New Trier's best placement since 2012. Coaches are Daniel Caldwell, Shayda Crosby, Kimberly Dwan, David Haak, Antony Harper, Alex Howe, Harold Slav, and Don Wurth.

  • New Trier Swing Choir in New York City
    On Sunday, April 14, the 22 members of the New Trier Swing Choir joined instrumental and vocal jazz ensembles from around the country at the New York City Jazz Festival. Hosted at Symphony Space, the renowned festival provides jazz groups with an opportunity to perform for and receive comments from a panel of jazz experts. For New Trier's Swing Choir, this meant rehearsing and performing at Symphony Space, as well as participating in a master class with celebrated vocal jazz educator Jennifer Barnes. https://www.jenniferbarnesmusic.com/
