News and Announcements
Lagniappe-Potpourri: From Scratch features student created scenes, songs, and dances as well as student-designed sets, lights, props, and costumes. Students are supervised in all levels of production and decision-making including building, choreographing, composing, conducting, designing, directing, managing, marketing, performing, producing and writing. Lagniappe-Potpourri gives students the opportunity to develop as student leaders, artists, and team members.
A special note about the 19-20 CAP extension: If the first New Trier production you were cast in was LP: "Go", "The Wedding Singer", "Pride and Prejudice", Senior Directing Projects or "Cheerleaders vs. Aliens", we are extending the time to complete your CAP requirement to the end of the 2020-2021 school year.
New Trier's arts program is a cornerstone of the school's whole-child approach to learning and exploring. The Performing Arts Division is committed to offering students the opportunity to participate in extracurricular dance, music, theatre, and fine arts performances and events to the greatest extent possible during the 2020-2021 school year regardless of whether students are learning in school, at home, or a combination of both. We have been working on creative solutions to address any of these scenarios and to keep students connected. Please refer to this page throughout the school year for the most updated information about performances, rehearsals, and other issues that may need to be fluid given the changing circumstances of state health guidance.
