The Career Counselor provides New Trier students with individual professional counseling and career exploration. Career Services complements the work of each student's advisor and post-high school counselor with steps to guide them through self-analysis, career exploration and educational goal setting. This is achieved through:

  • Three individual counseling sessions
  • Excursions to career fairs in a variety of fields including health care, media and communications, engineering, architecture and marketing
  • Job shadowing with professionals in the community
  • PHSC/Career Services Orientation with sophomore and junior advisories
  • Resume writing and interviewing workshops
  • Summer school program exploring careers in engineering, business management, and health care
  • Guidance for internships and Senior Project

  • Financial aid and internship information and applications
  • Visits from admissions representatives from post-secondary institutions in the U.S. and Canada
