Locker Retrieval Schedule and Sign-up

Given the governor's order to suspend in-person instruction for the remainder of this school year, we understand that many students may have left items in lockers that they need to retrieve. The new Illinois stay-at-home order issued April 23 allows schools to establish procedures for retrieval of student belongings using social distancing practices. Below please find information about the process for New Trier students to sign up to retrieve their items, safety guidelines students must follow including wearing a mask while on campus, and information regarding dropping off items that belong to the school district.

Social Distancing and Safety Measures

New Trier has taken steps to ensure social and physical distancing is possible in our buildings and to ensure the safety of students and staff:

  • We are limiting the number of students allowed inside campus at any given time
  • Security staff have been assigned to monitor social and physical distancing
  • Floor distancing markers and added signage will be posted to remind students of the guidelines
  • Both campuses have been extensively deep cleaned and we will take additional sanitation action to disinfect high-traffic and high-touch areas

When on campus, students will be required to maintain a safe social distance even if lockers are in the same area. When students approach campus they will be asked to wait following social distancing markings on the sidewalk outside of their entry point. Winnetka Campus students will line up and enter the North (glass) entrance off Trevian Way. Northfield Campus students will line up and enter from the west gate located between the D and E Buildings off Happ Road.

Students must wear face masks. We will not have face masks available, and students without them cannot enter the buildings. We also suggest that students bring their own bags or boxes so they can carry all items out of the buildings on their own. We will not have bags available.

Given these distancing and safety measures, we ask that only students come during their assigned times. Family members should not come along. If a student cannot pick up their own items, please complete this form to request your items be retrieved for you and delivered to your home. Please note, this option may take up to three weeks for delivery.

Pick-Up Procedures

  1. Students arrive at the North Entrance at Winnetka campus or D/E Gate at Northfield campus 5 minutes prior to their assigned time .
  2. Expect to wait outside in marked spaces that are at least 6 feet apart along the sidewalk. Only the designated student should come at their appointed time. Family members, friends, etc. are not allowed to wait with students or enter the buildings.
  3. Staff will direct students when to enter.
  4. Students are required to wear a mask to enter the building. Please bring one from home.
  5. Once students have emptied their locker they should leave the locker door open and immediately head to the exit. Students will not be allowed to congregate in the buildings or anywhere else on campus including parking lots.
  6. Winnetka Campus students will return to the North entrance and exit the building from the opposite set of doors, which allow separation from the students entering. Northfield Campus students will exit campus from the Athletic gate located between the F and D buildings.
