This resource provides the most relevant and timely content in support of staff use of both administrative and instructional technologies. District-Approved Communication Tools

(NEW) Zoom @ New Trier : New Trier has provided Zoom School Accounts for all users to support Teachers, Staff, and Students during this unique time of Remote Learning. This helps us protect our students and ensure a secure learning environment. Zoom technology allows for video conferencing, hosting virtual meetings and classrooms, and a way to create asynchronous content that can be posted and shared out.

New Trier supports the following district-approved communication tools:

  • NEW Zoom for Remote Learning
  • Canvas built-in communication tools
  • Remind (coaches, advisers, club sponsors)
  • Bright Arrow (PowerSchool)
  • Student email (Gmail); Faculty and Staff email (Microsoft Outlook); G Suite for Education (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.)

Student Workflow Guidelines

As part of the NT2030 Strategic Planning, faculty and staff developed Student Workflow Guidelines . These guidelines are based on extensive faculty and student feedback and discussions which recognized that when staff utilize tools consistently students have common experiences that make workflows more efficient and accessible for all learners. NOTE: Staff are expected to use district-approved communication tools when communicating with students. The Compliance deadline for staff is December 6, 2019.
