Trevian Debate Camp

Summer Debate Camp Information

For: New Trier Township students entering their 7th or 8th Grade Year
All campers will be engaged in hands-on activities, friendly competitions, and exciting argumentation and public speaking challenges. Each year we focus our problem-solving challenges around a major topic that is designed to expose and prepare students for high school debate and of course to have fun!! We strive to create a positive "camp" atmosphere where campers are learning by doing!

Campers will develop core argumentation skills such as delivery, writing, and research skills. There will be multiple debates a day and students will build toward progressively longer debates that focus on: moral reasoning, policy comparisons, American politics, economics, and more.

Note: The cost of the camp covers equipment, facilities, supplies and activities. Campers will be required to bring their own lunch.
