2026 Summer School General Information

About

The New Trier Summer School program offers classes in three areas: Academic, Enrichment, and Sports. Academic courses offered for credit are open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Academic courses for freshmen are introductory and are not eligible for graduation credit. Enrichment courses supplement the academic program and offer students the opportunity to explore an area of interest, upgrade present skills, or pursue a new skill.

Location

Summer School 2026 classes will take place at the Northfield Campus unless noted otherwise. Students will have PowerSchool access to their specific classroom locations prior to the first day of class.

Summer School Food Service

Northfield- Food including breakfast and lunch will be available from 7:30 am - 12:30 pm in the student cafeteria.
Winnetka - There will not be any food service offered at the Winnetka Campus.

Summer School Parking

Northfield Campus:

Students may park in the West Lot on Happ Road.

Winnetka Campus:
Students may park in the following locations:

North of Trevian Way, along N. Woodland Road
Sunset Road (eastbound)
Winnetka Avenue (east of Essex)
Wilson Road

Students may not park in New Trier parking lots or on Trevian Way. The Green Bay and Elder Lane lots are unavailable for student parking during the summer.

Summer School Registration Information

Accessing the Summer School Registration Request Form

Log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal
Do not log into your Student’s Portal. Summer School Registration requests must be submitted using the Parent’s PowerSchool portal.
Click on “Forms” located on the left side navigation bar.
Under the category “Summer School” choose the following form(s):
- “Summer School Academic/Enrichment Course Request 2026”
- “Summer School Athletic Course Request 2026”
These forms will be available on Feb. 2nd, 2026 at 8:00 AM.

Registration Requests - General Information

Submitting the Summer School Registration Request form does not guarantee a seat in a course. Class size is limited and subject to available staffing. Summer School course enrollment notifications will come out by mid-April.
Prior to completing the Summer School Registration Request Form, students and parents are urged to carefully read the summer school course catalog to avoid time conflicts between classes and athletics.

March 27 Registration Deadline and Waitlist Option

Up to March 27, parents will be able to modify and re-submit the Summer School Registration Form if a change needs to be made. After March 27, parents who have submitted the form will not be able to modify and re-submit the form. If a change must be made after March 27, the parent must email the change request to ntsummerschool@nths.net
After March 27, classes will be determined and staff hired based on the number of requests. Registration requests submitted after the deadline will be granted only on a space available basis.
Courses with insufficient enrollment will be canceled after the March 27 deadline and parents/guardians will be informed of the cancellation.
For courses that are not canceled, registration will close on March 27 and re-open on April 8 until the enrollment reaches capacity. Once a course reaches capacity, parents may select the “waitlist” option that will be listed on the form.
After March 27, if a class is closed or canceled, it will be noted on the registration form.
Students cannot be placed on multiple waitlists. Students cannot be simultaneously registered for a course and placed on a waitlist for a different course.
Students cannot be registered for the same course during Summer 2026 and the 2026-2027 school year.

Notification to Families and Payment

Summer School Registration 2026- Parent Email Instructions - Will be available on Feb 2nd, 2026.
Families will be contacted between mid-April through mid-May if their summer school request cannot be accommodated.
New Trier’s Business Office will email billing notifications in May. Registrants must pay the entire tuition at that time.
There is no tuition for credit recovery courses.
The Business Office receipt of payment will be the final confirmation of course enrollment.
