Illinois State Board of Education Guidance

New Trier High School's decisions about in-school instruction, safety precautions, learning scenarios, the school calendar, and other issues must be made within guidelines set by the Illinois State Board of Education in coordination with the Illinois Department of Public Health. While some decision-making is local based on a school's size, location, and grades of students served, many of the state guidelines for in-school learning (e.g. no more than 50 people in one location in a school) may restrict the decisions a large high school like New Trier can make about in-person learning.
