2026 TRYOUT INFORMATION

Tryout Schedule

Monday, August 10th-18 holes at The Winnetka Golf Club, 1300 Oak St. Winnetka, IL.  Tee times start at 7am

Tuesday, August 11th-18 holes at The Winnetka Golf Club, 1300 Oak St. Winnetka, IL.  Tee times start at 7am

Wednesday, August 12th-18 holes at The Winnetka Golf Club, 1300 Oak St. Winnetka, IL.  Tee times start at 7am

Tryouts will NOT be extended beyond these dates for any reason.

TRYOUT SELECTION PROCESS:

1. All levels will carry a roster of 12 athletes.

2. Seniors must show the ability to play in the starting 6 by the end of the season to be selected for the Varsity team.  No Seniors will be selected for the JV Team.

3. Athletes will be evaluated on tryout scores, course management, swing technique, attitude and potential for growth.

4. Summer tournament experience and scores will NOT be taken into account when selecting players for the team.

5. Golf is a game of honor.  Any player that is caught intentionally breaking the rules will be immediately removed from the tryouts and the team.  Any player who believes another player has cheated or witnesses a player cheating should:

• Address the concern with the foursome

• Find a coach and report the concern

• Any reports of cheating that are brought to the coaches the following day or after tryouts conclude cannot be honored. 

6. Tryout scoring will follow IHSA format with all players exchanging scorecards and confirming opponents' scores for accuracy after each hole and at the conclusion of each round.  Participants will be monitored by the coaching staff during the tryout process and when calculating final scores after each round.

PRACTICES & MATCHES: Mandatory practices will be every day(M-F) after school from 3:45-6:00 pm, excluding days of a match.  Matches are expected to run longer and are scheduled on some Saturdays.

TRANSPORTATION:  A shuttle service will be provided to our home courses and transportation will not be provided after practices or home matches.  Transportation will be provided to and from all away matches.

EQUIPMENT:  Players are responsible for their own golf clubs, golf balls, and golf shoes.  Golf bags will be provided to the player once he makes the team.

DRESS:  A collared shirt and appropriate shorts/pants are required.  No gym shorts, cargo pants/shorts or jeans are allowed.
