Class Of 2025-26

The New Trier Athletic Department is thrilled to announce the 2025-26 Athletic Hall of Honor Class. They are: Chip Carpenter, Dr. Richard Sherman, Robert Spagnoli, and Dr. Linda Yonke. A special ceremony honoring this year’s inductees will take place on February 6, 2026 in the Winnetka Campus Main Gym between the varsity girls and boys basketball games versus Glenbrook South High School.
The New Trier Athletic Hall of Honor recognizes and honors head coaches, administrators, and at-large nominees for their significant contributions to New Trier Athletics. Candidates must have consistently represented and upheld the New Trier High School Athletic Department Mission Statement throughout their careers.
Chip Carpenter dedicated over three decades as an assistant boys basketball coach and boys golf coach, contributing significantly to New Trier’s athletic programs.
Dr. Richard Sherman has been New Trier’s dedicated team doctor on the football sidelines for over 25 years. He continues to volunteer his services, providing invaluable medical support to student athletes both on and off the field.
Robert Spagnoli, the Girls Track & Field Head Coach for an impressive 32 seasons, guided his team to 357 state qualifiers, 79 All-State athletes, and six IHSA Sectional Championships. Coach Spagnoli also served as an assistant football coach throughout his career.
Dr. Linda Yonke was a steadfast supporter of New Trier Athletics during her tenure as New Trier Superintendent. She played a crucial role in securing funding and overseeing the installation of the turf fields on the Northfield Campus, coordinating efforts with Athletics, the Booster Club, and the Board of Education.
New Trier is honored to recognize these individuals for their outstanding contributions to our students and athletic department. Please join us on February 6, 2026, to celebrate these remarkable inductees.
