Student Financial Assistance Program

New Trier Township High School offers a financial assistance program for families who qualify in accordance with Board of Education Policy 4:140: Waiver of School Fees.

Families may be eligible for financial assistance by meeting income thresholds under the Federal Poverty Guidelines established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for the National School Lunch Program or by temporary financial hardships (unemployment, loss of housing due to disaster, illness, etc.) or other emergencies that create a severe impact on family income levels.

Approval is based on many factors such as current household size, income, and each family’s unique financial situation. Other factors that are considered are participation in the SNAP/TNAF programs, job loss/layoff/receiving unemployment benefits, having a parent/guardian on disability and other extenuating circumstances. These guidelines are outlined by Board Policy.

To be considered for financial assistance, families must complete an application and submit supporting financial documentation. All applications are kept confidential.

Financial assistance is granted only for the current school year and is not retroactive. Families must reapply each school year.

Families interested in applying may complete the on-line form found in the parent portal in PowerSchool. Go to the Forms tab and select the Financial Aid Application 2025-2026. PowerSchool portal: (https://newtrier.guardian.powerschool.com/). Applications are open throughout the school year.

  • Meal plan providing breakfast and lunch items.
  • Waiver of textbooks, electronic media and other items related to course work.
  • Transportation for families living in busable areas.
