Director of Special Education

Responsibilities:

• Works collaboratively with the Assistant Superintendent of Special Education to oversee and develop special education programs and services on the Northfield and Winnetka campuses
• Works collaboratively with the Winnetka Special Education Department Chair, Northfield Special Education Department Chair, New Trier Learning Center Director and the Education and Life Skills Program Coordinator
• Works collaboratively with special education teachers, instructional assistants, psychologists, and speech and language pathologists in the provision of quality special education services for students with disabilities
• Works collaboratively with Ture North Special Education District to provide services for New Trier students
• Works collaboratively with Assistant Principals on the Winnetka and Northfield Campuses to develop Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports

Academic Preparation:

• Bachelor of Science in Special Education, with an emphasis in Intellectual Disabilities – Auburn University
• Master of Arts in Learning Disabilities – Northwestern University
• Master of Science in Educational Leadership – Northern Illinois University
