Exams begin at 8 a.m. on both campuses. Note that this start time is earlier than a typical school day on the Winnetka Campus. Each exam will last approximately 80 minutes.

Students only need to be on campus only for their assigned exam times. This includes most English, science, social studies, and math classes and electives taken for major credit (Winnetka Campus only).  Additional exam information will be shared by students’ individual teachers.

MCL Language Proficiency Assessments (LPAs) will be administered during regularly scheduled MCL class periods from December 7 - December 11 (Semester 1) and May 24-May 28 (Semester 2).  Additional details about LPA requirements will be shared by individual teachers.

No student is required to take three exams in one day. If a student is scheduled for three exams in a day, they may request to move one exam to a different testing period when their teacher is available. Whenever possible, exams should be rescheduled for a later period in the exam schedule. Students should speak directly with their teachers to make these arrangements. Advisers are also available for additional support if needed. 

Students who miss a final exam or assessment must contact their teacher to arrange a makeup time. They should also inform their adviser about the missed exam.  For extenuating circumstances when students are unable to complete their exams during the exam week, they should work with their teacher to arrange a make up exam.

Winnetka and Northfield Campus

• Exam Day 1-3: 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• Last Day of 2nd Semester: 7:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Personal items left behind at school have been collected throughout the school year and placed with security.  Students should approach security at any entrance for support regarding lost items during school hours.

New Trier Bookstore is accepting book buybacks through the last day of school. Eligible books must be in good condition and are limited to a specific list of titles (below). We are also no longer accepting paperback books outside of this list. The eligible titles for buyback are:
