Thrilling comeback over Ohio power Upper Arlington

Trevs defeat Upper Arlington

New Trier rallied back and scored two late goals to defeat the Golden Bears 10-9.

Down 7-4 in the third quarter, the Trevians rallied back with two goals from Riley Nolan and a beautiful feed from Matty Meier to Sonja Keneally, and then Ellie Bornhoeft did a free position shot to tie the game 8-8. In the fourth, after Upper Arlington scored :45 seconds into the half to make it 9-8, the Trevs defense stepped up to shutdown Upper Arlington led by seniors Allie Trukenbrod, Holly Smith and Madison Rewey. Meg Gallagher had some big saves and Emma Riley made a nice interception to stop a Golden Bears possession.

Late in the quarter, Matty Meier rolled the crease and scored to tie the game, and then Bornhoeft won the draw and Avery Anderson fired a rocket past the goalie to give New Trier the lead with 1:39 left. On the ensuing draw, Bornhoeft came up with the draw and the Trevians ran out the clock for the victory over a very athletic and well coached team.
