Trevs take down Ohio power Upper Arlington in double overtime

After Upper Arlington made a tremendous comeback to force overtime, the defense held tough and the Trevs scored in the second overtime for a 12-11 win.

With the score tied at 11-11, New Trier had the ball in the first overtime, but was turned away by the Golden Bears. The defense stepped up and held off Upper Arlington, as Ellie Bornhoeft raced to grab a deflected loose ball to force a second overtime.

That's when Kennedy Meier won the biggest draw of the game to set up the attack, and Ava Diamond found Addie Shevitz open, and she buried the game winner.

New Trier went up 8-2 at half, but a tough Upper Arlington attack led by Kambell Stone, rallied back in the second half.

Meier had six draw controls for the Trevians. Allie Trukenbrod and Maddy Rewey each led the team with two ground balls. Claire Ratke and Addie Shevitz each had three goals. Shevitz also had three assists. Audrey Rudolph had two goals and an assist. Hana Asghari had a goal and two assists.
