New Trier falls short in comeback against New Albany

For the second time in two days, the Trevs fell behind and were not able to comeback, falling to the New Albany Eagles 10-8.

After struggling to control the ball early on, the Trevs lost the first seven draws, and fell behind 4-1 to the Eagles. Kennedy Meier then won two straight draws and the Trevs answered back with back-to-back goals by Addie Shevitz to cut the lead to 4-3.

But everytime the Trevs got within one, New Albany answered back. Meier made a beautiful feed to Audrey Rudolph to make it 5-4 at half.

The Trevs played great defense in the second half, including four forced turnovers, two on defense by Allie Trukenbrod and Courtney Laden, and two on rides by Shevitz and Brooke Ross, helping the Trevs stay in the game. Shevitz had two great goals on dodges and Grace Curry had two goals to cut the lead to 9-8 with 4:00 left in the game. Unfortunately, the Trevs had some costly fouls and a questionable yellow card, and were not able to comeback, and eventually lost 10-8.

Shevitz had her best game of the season, with four goals and an assist. Meier finished with a season high eight draw controls.
