Location: Brew Crew: 2nd floor outside the Library of Winnetka Campus

Job Details:

Typically, twice a week, a couple of Students and Staff from the Transition Center shuttle over. Once at the site, students prepare, make and sell warm beverages to the students and staff of New Trier Winnetka Campus. They choose to work in shifts either morning or afternoon. Each shift lasts for 1-2 hours and gives students an opportunity to work, learn how to make coffee and/or hot chocolate. Other skills these young adults build on include using a register, handling money, and other important retail skills.

Job tasks: 

  • Making Coffee & Hot Chocolate
  • Cleaning the Barista Counter
  • Keeping sale items in stock
  • Setting up the Display Shelves for sales each day
  • Turning on registers to accept payments for the day
  • Counting the Cash drawer to ensure there is enough money to make change.
