ACT/SAT Test Preparation
This winter, New Trier will be offering another session of our after-school ACT & SAT preparation course taught by faculty members from our English, mathematics, and science departments. We will be offering two versions of the course. Both versions include textbooks and practice materials, in-depth instruction by New Trier faculty members, guided practice with test-taking strategies, and detailed score reports from three, full-length practice exams. These courses will arm students with strategies and materials that will prepare them equally for both the ACT and the SAT.
In-Person Class:
Instruction will be after school every day, Mondays through Thursdays at the Winnetka Campus (see attached calendar for details). The course includes sixteen hours of in-person instruction, divided among four subject areas: English, reading, math, and science. Students are grouped with peers currently enrolled in similar math and English courses at New Trier in order to provide targeted instruction aligned with their academic curriculum. The fee is $495. Online Class:
We are also offering an online, evening session of the class. Classes will be held entirely online Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:30PM (see attached calendar for details). Like the in-person class, students will receive instruction from New Trier math, science, and English teachers. Three official practice tests will be taken by students from home. Students use the same texts and practice tests as those enrolled in the in-person class. This course is a great option either for students with busy schedules or students with some previous test prep experience. This moves at a quicker pace than the in-person class and requires a higher degree of self-motivation from the students. It is not a good fit for every student. The fee is $495. Online Class Calendar
