Registration for 2021-2022 Bus Service is CLOSED.   The deadline for registering for bus service was Friday, July 16

New Trier High School provides bus transportation services through Alltown Bus Service, Inc. If you would like to register your student for bus transportation for the 2021-2022 school year, please click Transportation . At this site you can register online with Discover, MasterCard or Visa.

The deadline for registering for bus service is Friday, July 16 at 5 pm .

In order to best serve the needs of the District and families, bus routes will be developed after Friday, July 16, 2021 deadline. Please see below for more specific details:

  • Any registration received after they July 16 will be accepted only if space is available on existing routes. 
  • If space is not available students will be placed on a wait list for the appropriate route. Bus requests will be processed in the order they were received.
  • Routes are determined based on the locations of those who register.
  • Specific bus stop information will be emailed to families prior to the start of school.
  • Bus passes will be sent to the Advisers for distribution to the students during the first week of school.

Please note the following information for the 2021-22 school year regarding bus service:

We will continue monitor the pandemic as restrictions ease and information continues to evolve and new guidance is provided by the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Illinois State Board of Education.  We anticipate that buses will run at normal capacity.

School Bus Information:

AM and PM Bus Routes

New Trier's morning bus routes pick up students in all grade levels, stopping first at the Northfield Campus and then proceeding to the Winnetka Campus. In the afternoon, buses leave the Northfield Campus to take students directly home and then proceed to the Winnetka Campus to pick up students and take them home. 

Students are dismissed at 3:10 p.m. at the Northfield Campus and 3:30 p.m. at the Winnetka Campus. Northfield Campus buses depart at 3:20 p.m., and Winnetka Campus buses depart between 3:45-4:00 p.m.

Pick-up Information:

  • Northfield pick-up: in front of E building (Cornog) on Happ Road
  • Winnetka pick-up: on Winnetka Avenue by big flag pole 

Late activity buses are offered to students who have registered and purchased either the round trip or one-way PM bus pass.

     

    Please note that activity passes are not sold individually. Drivers route the late activity buses based on daily ridership. The route each bus will take is determined by the destinations of the students riding. As students board the bus, they inform the driver of their regular bus stop. The length of the ride is dependent on the number of riders.

    Free Shuttle Buses:
    The District, through Alltown, operates a free daily shuttle bus service between campuses, a purchase of a bus pass is not needed to ride the shuttle . Students who walk or are dropped off at either campus can take the shuttle bus to the other campus. Schedules for the daily shuttle can be found on this page.

    Pick-up Information:

    • Northfield pick-up/drop-off: On Happ Road near big flag pole
    • Winnetka pick-up/drop-off: In front of Gaffney Auditorium on Winnetka Avenue 

    Transportation Refund Requests 2021-2022 School Year:

    If you have purchased full year transportation:

    • Last day to request a full refund (minus a $15 administrative Fee) - Monday, August 30, 2021
    • Last day to request a 75% refund- Friday, October 8, 2021
    • Last day to request a 50% refund- Friday, December 17, 2021
    • No refunds will be issued after the Friday, December 17, 2021

    If you have purchased transportation service for the first semester:

    • Last day to request a full refund (minus a $15 administrative Fee) - Monday, August 30, 2021
    • Last day to request a 50% refund- Friday, October 8, 2021
    • No refunds will be issued after the Friday, October 8, 2021

    A refund is available, provided it is requested in writing and received via email with your child's full name and student ID number. Please email all refund requests to  lambertf@nths.net .

    Pace Bus Information:

    Pace will continue monitor the pandemic as restrictions ease and information continues to evolve and new guidance is provided by the Illinois Department of Public Health. Pace anticipates that buses will run at normal capacity and all trips footnoted as "school days only" will be operating for the Fall 2021 school year.
