Enrollment
-
The right to attend school at New Trier tuition-free is extended to residents who reside full-time and permanently within the District 203 boundaries. A student must reside on a full-time, permanent basis with one of the following:
- A natural or adoptive parent listed on the birth certificate
- A court-appointed legal guardian
- An adult who receives public aid on behalf of the student
- An adult who has assumed and exercises full responsibility for the student and provides a fixed, nighttime residence where the student regularly eats and sleeps
Property owners in District 203 who do not live at the property are not considered legal residents. Their students do not qualify for tuition-free enrollment.
The District 203 attendance area includes Glencoe, Kenilworth, Wilmette, Winnetka, and portions of Northfield, Glenview, and Northbrook. Please click here to view our Attendance Boundary Map
The New Trier Registrar's Office serves as the primary point of contact for all new, transfer, and returning students and their families throughout the school year. Placement Test
The CTP5 tests are only one component of the portfolio used to place students in appropriate course levels at New Trier. The student self-assessment and writing sample are completed during the testing period and teacher feedback forms are completed at the sender schools. Parents will also complete a student profile when they sign up for a PowerSchool account. These materials are all an important part of the placement recommendations made by New Trier faculty. It usually takes a full morning, starting at 8:00 a.m., and ending around 12:00 noon.

Scheduling Conference
After all testing and evaluations have been completed, the next step is a Scheduling Conference with an Adviser Chair. You will receive a call from the Adviser Chair or Assistant Principal’s offices within days of your student completing placement testing. During this meeting your student will be assigned an adviser and a schedule for classes. You and your student may ask any questions you have about New Trier and our programs at this time.
