2024 Summer School General Information

Location
- Summer School 2024 Academic and Enrichment classes will be held at the Winnetka Campus.
- Athletics will be held at the Winnetka Campus, Northfield Campus, and Duke Childs Field depending on the sport.
- Students will have access to their class locations prior to the first day of class.
Dates
- February 5 – Registration opens
- March 22 – Registration deadline for academic and enrichment courses
- April 5 – Late registration opens for academic and enrichment courses
- May 1 – Registration deadline for sports opportunities
- May 8 – Late registration opens for sports opportunities
- June 10 – Summer School begins
- July 26 – Last day of Summer School
Classes will not meet on Wednesday, June 19; Thursday, July 4; Friday, July 5
Semester 1: June 10 – July 2
Semester 2: July 3 – July 26
*Registrations received after the registration deadlines will be subject to a late fee of $50.Summer School Registrar

Parking
- Winnetka - Students may park only on N. Woodland Road (north of Trevian Way), Sunset Road (eastbound), Winnetka Ave. (east of Essex), and Wilson. Students may not park in New Trier parking lots or on Trevian Way. The Green Bay and Elder Lane lots are not available for student parking during the summer.
- Northfield - Students may park only in the West Lot on Happ Rd.

Accessing the Summer School Registration Request Form
- Log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal at: https://newtrier.powerschool.com/public/
- Do not log into your Student’s Portal. Summer School Registration requests must be submitted using the Parent’s PowerSchool portal.
- Click on “Forms” located on the left side navigation bar.
- Under the category “Summer School” choose the following form(s):
- “Summer School Academic/Enrichment Course Request 2024”
- “Summer School Athletic Course Request 2024”
- These forms will be available on Feb 5th at 8:00 AM.

Registration Requests - General Information
- There are two summer school forms available in PowerSchool by clicking the left-hand icon for “Forms”:
- For Academic or Enrichment Courses use:

- For Sports Opportunities use:
- Summer School Athletic Course Request 2024 Form

- Submitting the Summer School Registration Request form does not guarantee a seat in a course. Class size is limited and subject to available staffing. Summer School course enrollment notifications will come out by mid-April.
- Summer Academic and Enrichment courses will be held at the Winnetka Campus. Sports will be held at the Winnetka Campus, Northfield Campus and Duke Childs Field.
- Prior to completing the Summer School Registration Request Form, students and parents are urged to carefully read the summer school course catalog to avoid time conflicts between classes and athletics.
- There are two summer school forms available in PowerSchool by clicking the left-hand icon for “Forms”:

March 22 Registration Deadline and Waitlist Option
- Up to March 22, parents will be able to modify and re-submit the Summer School Registration Form if a change needs to be made. After March 22, parents who have submitted the form will not be able to modify and re-submit the form. If a change must be made after March 22, the parent must email the change request to ntsummerschool@nths.net
- After March 22, classes will be determined and staff hired based on the number of requests. Registration requests submitted after the deadline will be granted only on a space available basis.
- Courses with insufficient enrollment will be canceled after the March 22 deadline and parents/guardians will be informed of the cancellation.
- For courses that are not canceled, registration will close on March 22 and re-open on April 5 until the enrollment reaches capacity. Once a course reaches capacity, parents may select the “waitlist” option that will be listed on the form.
- After March 22, if a class is closed or canceled, it will be noted on the registration form.
- Students will NOT be able to register for one course AND be placed on a waitlist for a different course. They also cannot be placed on multiple waitlists.

Notification to Families and Payment
- Summer School Registration 2024- Parent Email Instructions
- Families will be contacted between mid-April through mid-May if their summer school request cannot be accommodated.
- New Trier’s Business Office will bill registrants in May. Registrants must pay the entire tuition at that time.
- There is no tuition for credit recovery courses.
- The Business Office receipt of payment will be the final confirmation of course enrollment.

- Summer School schedules will be available in PowerSchool approximately one week before the start of Summer School. Student schedules will not be mailed or emailed.
