Big play in goal helps in win over Wildkits

The Kits came out strong at home, but the Trevs defense stiffened in the second half, led by Meg Gallaghers 13 saves in goal for a 16-7 win.

Tied 4-4 at the end of the second, New Trier won seven straight draws and pulled away from Evanston. Holly Smith, Megan Riley and Ellie Bornhoeft combined for 14 draw controls. Allie Trukenbrod and Megan Riley each had two caused turnovers also. 

On attack, Matty Meier had three goals, as did Bornhoeft. Claire Ratke had three assists and a goal. Courtney Laden, Sonja Keneally and Logan Savarie each tallied two goals. 

New Trier outscored Evanston 5-1 to finish the fourth quarter.
