Comprehensive School Climate Inventory (CSCI) March 3-31

  • The State of Illinois requires that schools conduct a climate survey annually. New Trier High School has chosen the Comprehensive School Climate Inventory, and we are seeking survey responses from students, staff, and parents. This survey is designed to assess perceptions of the school environment, including feelings about safety, teaching and learning, interpersonal relationships, social media, and institutional environment. New Trier uses this data as another set of information to assist with improving school programming and interventions.

Considerable research has demonstrated that a safe, supportive school climate has a positive impact on student learning. The survey was created by the National School Climate Center and is based on decades of school climate research.

We encourage all parents and students to complete this survey. The survey should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous. There are no names attached to the survey, and all data will be reported in terms of the way groups of people (students, staff, and parents) respond to items.

    Parents and Guardian Participation:

There are two links for this survey, one for each campus. Please complete the survey for the campus that your student attends. If you have more than one student attending New Trier, please consider completing surveys for both campuses. Links have been emailed to you on February 26.

If you have multiple students at the same campus, you need only complete the survey once.

    Student Participation:

The CSCI will be available for students to complete during Advisery during the week of March 3.

All survey responses must be submitted no later than March 31, 2025.
