Trevians top Arrowhead

On a beautiful day for lacrosse, the Trevians controlled the draws and the game, defeating Arrowhead 17-2. 

In the seventh meeting between these schools, the first in 2014, New Trier came out strong and never let a young but athletic Warhawk team get any momentum. Six different players grabbed draw controls for the Trevs, led by assistant coach Carli Harpel's instruction, the draw team was on fire, winning 16 out of the 20 draws. Kennedy Meier had five and Ellie Bornhoeft had four. 

All of the draw controls led to New Trier scoring on several fast breaks and owning the time of possession early in the game. Nine different players tallied goals for the offense. Senior captain Emma Curry had a season high five goals, while Claire Ratke and Grace Curry each had two assists of the Trevians seven assisted goals. Grace Curry, Courtney Laden, Addie Shevtiz and Hana Asghari each tallied two goals. Bornhoeft, Molly Martin, Meier and Ratke also netted goals.

Sophie Meyer, Ratke and Brooke Ross each had two ground balls to lead the Trevs. Ross also had two caused turnovers. Allie Trukenbrod, Anna Seftenberg and Lilly Wallace also had caused turnovers. Elizabeth McLane had a save in the second half also. Brooke Portland, Grace Mawicke, Gianna Malnati and Natalie Freres all came in and played solid defense also.
