End of Semester Information

On behalf of the New Trier administration and staff, we have truly enjoyed working with your students this semester. Courses at the end of the semester may include a cumulative final exam, an end-of-unit test, a writing assignment, a project, or a performance assessment. Please note that not all courses will have these scheduled during finals week.

CALENDAR AND CAMPUS SCHEDULES
Monday, December 15: Anchor Day
Tuesday, December 16 - Thursday, December 18: Final Exams, Fall Schedule HERE
Friday, December 19, Grading Day — No School.Exams begin at 8:15 a.m. on both campuses. Note that this start time is earlier than a typical school day on the Winnetka Campus. Each exam will last approximately 90 minutes.
Students need to be on campus only for their assigned exam times. This includes most English, science, social studies, and math classes and electives taken for major credit. Additional exam requirement information will be shared by students’ individual teachers in the coming weeks.
Science exams will be given during the course’s designated lab period. Additional details about exam requirements will be shared by individual teachers in the coming weeks.
MCL Language Proficiency Assessments (LPAs) for Semester 1 will be administered during regularly scheduled MCL class periods from December 8-12. Additional details about LPA requirements will be shared by individual teachers in the coming weeks.

TRANSPORTATION
Students may park at the Northfield Campus without a permit and use the shuttle bus between campuses.
Students using the route bus should plan to be picked up at their usual time. For the trip home, check the Route Bus Schedule for departure times.-

MISSED EXAMS AND ASSESSMENTS
Students who miss a final exam or assessment must contact their teacher to arrange a makeup time. They should also inform their adviser about the missed exam. Students who are unable to complete their exams during the exam week should arrange to make up their exams.

FINAL GRADES
Before final exams, teachers will communicate to their students when they can anticipate being able to view final exam results through PowerSchool and Canvas.
Report cards will be visible to students and parents in PowerSchool after Friday, January 9 at 3:30 p.m.
