In this yearlong course, students will work together in a fully inclusive community. Students with and without disabilities will work collaboratively exploring art techniques and materials while learning to express themselves individually as an artist. Units of study may include ceramics, collage, design, drawing, glass, painting, photography, and sculpture. The Art Essentials class meets daily and culminates in an end-of-year art show. Field trips and community-outreach programs will be explored. Students are required to purchase an art kit. This course fulfills the graduation requirement for fine and/or practical arts.
