When WNTH went on the air on December 10, 1960, it was one of the first high school radio stations in the country. Today, the "voice of New Trier" showcases variety programming ranting from music and news to sports and public affairs.

The station broadcasts at 88.1 fm with 100 watts of power, which is sufficient to reach  the entire New Trier Township and much of the surrounding area. The station broadcasts live from 6:30 am to 10:00 pm Monday through Saturday and plays highlights on Sundays and school holidays.

A dozen students are selected each year to serve as board members and manage the station under supervision by expert faculty and staff members. The station is completely run by students under the supervision of a few faculty members. Each year, a new group of students is selected to take charge of the station.
