Director of Special Education

Responsibilities:

Works collaboratively with the Assistant Superintendent of Special Education to oversee and develop special education programs and services on the Northfield and Winnetka campuses
Works collaboratively with the Winnetka Special Education Department Chair, Northfield Special Education Department Chair, New Trier Learning Center Director and the Education and Life Skills Program Coordinator
Works collaboratively with special education teachers, instructional assistants, psychologists, and speech and language pathologists in the provision of quality special education services for students with disabilities
Works collaboratively with Ture North Special Education District to provide services for New Trier students
Works collaboratively with Assistant Principals on the Winnetka and Northfield Campuses to develop Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports

Academic Preparation:

Bachelor of Science in Special Education, with an emphasis in Intellectual Disabilities – Auburn University
Master of Arts in Learning Disabilities – Northwestern University
Master of Science in Educational Leadership – Northern Illinois University

Professional Licensure and Endorsements
