• The Educational and Life Skills (ELS) Program serves students with disabilities whose goal is to increase functional academic and life skills. Instruction takes place in a variety of environments, including our local community, to help students generalize skills. The program integrates social skills training throughout the curriculum to increase age-appropriate social interactions. Our students are provided appropriate supports to allow them to be full participants of New Trier High School, including inclusion in the general education environment and participation in the wide range of opportunities that New Trier has to offer. Ultimately, the focus of the program is to help our students become the most independent adults possible. Students in the program all complete a meaningful, individualized curriculum, working toward the completion of a standard high school diploma.
